Redlands East Valley Instrumental Music Department - Staff
Brian Hollett
REV HS Instrumental Music Director:  This is an exciting year for the REV Instrumental Music Department as they are under the new direction of Music Director Brian Hollett.   Mr. Hollett attended the University of Redlands and earned two degrees. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in Bachelor of Music Education and a second degree in 2008 Masters of Music in Horn Performance.  For 8 years he played in the Marine Band in New Orleans and Hawaii.  He was deployed in 2012 to undisclosed locations in Southwest Asia.  Currently, he is in the Air National Guard Band on the West Coast.  Mr. Hollett plays numerous instruments including the French Horn.  He taught at Woodrow Wilson High School in El Sereno, East Los Angeles for 5 years.







Taylor Lane
Visual Instructor/Leadership Training:
Taylor Lane is currently a graduate student at Cal Poly Pomona working in her Masters in Biological Sciences.  She is an UC Santa Barbara alumni, having earned her B.S. in Biology.  Taylor has been involved with the Marching Wildcats for over a decade as an alumni of REV, graduating in 2008.  She marched all four years of high school and was the Woodwind Captain/Flute Section leader in 2006 and a Drum Major in 2007.  Taylor was also in Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band during her time at REV.  Currently she is involved in leadership training at both REV and Azusa High Schools.  She is a camp counselor at band camp.  Throughout marching band season Taylor can be found helping the Marching Wildcats as a visual instructor. 











Kajay Anderson
Color Guard Instructor:  Kajay Anderson is currently a full-time student at San Bernardino Valley Community College majoring in Nursing.  She has been involved with Color Guard activities for nearly a decade now.  She is an alumni of REV where she marched all four years of fall season as well as winter season.  Kajay is a current member of the World Class Winter Guard Fantasia and well known College Band and Color Guard RCC.  Color Guard is supposed to be fun, and as an instructor that is the kind of experience she tries to create.   











 
Brayan Rubio
Visual Instructor:  Mr. Brayan Rubio has been involved with the REV Instrumental program since 2015, and possesses 7 years of experience in the Marching Arts.  Brayan has had the honor of participating in the Tournament of Roses Parade 4 times, and he has performed across the United States with the Open Class Gold Drum & Bugle Corps and the World Class Santa Clara Vanguard Drum Corps.  Brayan's duties as Visual Caption Head & Marching Instructor of the REV Marching Wildcats include ensuring that everyone looks great on the field for the competitive field show and raising each member to their fullest potential.  In addition to his work with the REV Wildcats, Brayan is a full-time student at Riverside City College majoring in Music Education.  His future goal is to become a Band Director and continue to help kids grow with music in their lives.




Edgar Sanchez
Percussion Educator/Arranger:  Edgar Sanchez is an active percussion Educator/Arranger in the Southern California Region.  Although primarily known as a marching percussion specialist, he can be heard and seen playing anything from timpani to marimba, Latin percussion and drum set.  Currently he is the percussion coordinator at Azusa High School, California High School, Redlands East Valley High School, Schurr High School, and Whittier Christian High School.  Under his direction, these ensembles have won numerous awards as well as Superior rated festival performances.  Edgar's performance credits include:  Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps, Pasadena Community Orchestra, Sierra Wind Symphony, Olympia Youth Orchestra, Hollywood Master Chorale, Fox's Teen Choice Awards, and a 2006 New Years performance with country artist, LeAnn Rimes.  Edgar has had the privilege of studying with Robin Sharp, Ray Yslas, Michael Packer and Jon Magnussen.
